Fed: ABL/Austrade sign exporting plan
CANBERRA, April 29 AAP - Australian Business Ltd and Austrade today signed an allianceto boost the number of exporting firms.
Under the alliance, the two organisations will cooperate on export and trade policies,develop training seminars and workshops for potential exporters, and refer clients toeach other.
Austrade managing director Charles Jamieson said the deal was significant as it wouldhelp many businesses find markets overseas.
"This alliance is nothing short of groundbreaking, for both the groups involved andthe wider export community, by generating practical benefits for novice and experiencedexporters alike," Mr Jamieson said.
"It is important that government and industry work together to ensure Australia's tradeoutcomes are successfully achieved."
Last month the federal and state governments signed an agreement to double the numberof exporting firms by 2006.
