Dave Freak's Web Watch ; Westlife, not as we know them

Fans of chart topping boyband Westlife might be horrified to discover their idols appear to have come over all Country and Western! A quick visit to www.westlife.com reveals a whole coral of cowboy related nonsense, from spurs and Stetsons to such classy rhyming couplets as: 'Well I'm heading down the road to my first rodeo. I've been thinking a lot about it, and I think I'll give ita go.' Ouch!

Fooled you as this is actually a site promoting 'Western lifestyles' and 'Old West attitudes', the young whipper-snappers are still safe and sound and tucked away at: www.west life.co.uk/ As people increasingly have access to more than one computer - home, work, internet cafes - remembering the web addresses of your favourite sites can be highly frustrating. Online Favourites (http:/ /www.onlinefavourites.com/) lets you compile your veryown personal online 'bookmark' collection, allowing you to keep all your fave URLs in one place, and rank them too. Over the hills Excellently named Camping and Tramping in England and Wales (http://www.giblets.demon.co.uk/campingandtramping/) is an enjoyable resource for those into a spot of rambling. With plenty of links plus suggestions as to cheap eats, pubs and what to do ifit's raining, the site primarily covers the Lake and Peak districts, plus Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia. X-Factor The Museum of Unnatural Mystery (http://unmuseum.mus.pa.us/) is a great introduction to all things X-Files. From UFOs to sea monsters that never were and stone circles, it's all here.

Other sites certainly offer more detail on particular mysteries, butfew offer this breadth. The cheeky grin Few paintings are as admired and worshipped as Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Painted on a piece of pine wood in 1506, Mona's enigmatic smile is alwasy the centre of attention. Surprisingly, it's been suggested that the young lass is none- other than the old duffer Leonardo himself! And to support this theory, a digitized image of both have been merged together at Why is the Mona Lisa Smiling?(http://library.thinkquest.org/13681/data/ link2.htm).
