Win $1 million! McAfee have also developed an online game - "Captain McAfee and the Battle for Threat Protection" - offering players three attempts to defeat a `Harry Hacker` character and the chance to be the lucky winner of $1 million, by entering an eight digit number to unlock a safe.
If the player`s number matches the secret number, they win the lot!
Alligators in cages Outdoor promotional activity will take place between 19-23rd April at Broadgate in the City of London and at the Harlequin Shopping Centre in Watford on 24th April, where perspex cages containing a PC being `guarded` by a variety of fearsome creatures ranging from snakes and spiders to baby alligators, will be on show to the public.
The underlying message is "There has to be an easier way to protect your PC", and promotional staff will be on hand with flyers directing people to the McAfee micro-site, where they can play the online game and be in with a chance to win $1 million.
Outdoor activity at Broadgate and the Harlequin Shopping Centre will be supported by in-store activity within local retailers, where Win $1 million promotional stickers will feature on McAfee product range packaging.
Additionally, McAfee-branded taxi cabs will be driving around Greater London for the duration of the campaign and Network Associates have presence at InfoSecurity 2004 in late April.
Sarah Whipp, Director of EMEA Marketing at Network Associates, says: "New viruses appear each day and virus writers, spammers and hackers are using increasingly sophisticated techniques as technology continues to evolve. So it` s not surprising that people feel frustrated and confused about the options available when it comes to their PC protection.
"Our new campaign is designed to specifically address this by reminding people just how easy it is to safeguard their PCs using our software and by accessing the wealth of information available for free, via our new dedicated micro-site".
