MANASSAS, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2000
E-BUSINESS-STOR.COM (EBStor.com), a subsidiary of Manassas-based PACEL Corp. (OTCBB:PLRP), has entered into an agreement with officials at Forest Park Senior High School in nearby Woodbridge, Va., to form a cooperative venture between EBStor.com Inc. and the Forest Park Senior High School. This agreement will result in EBStor.com Inc. redesigning, upgrading and hosting the school's existing web site, it was announced here today by EBStor.com's President F. Kay Calkins. The Technology Partnership also provides high school students the opportunity to work as interns, receiving on-site training in the Internet commerce and services arena.
"We are delighted to become part of Forest Park Senior High School's Information Systems Technology Program which provides interested students the opportunity to become engaged in an extensive technological program of studies developed through a collaborative relationship with the business and academic community," said Ms. Calkins. "We look forward to being a part of this arrangement."
As part of the agreement, EBStor.com will assign several of its professional web designers to the project. They will visit the school, meet with the teaching staff and get first-hand looks at classrooms and laboratories. They will then redesign the Forest Senior High School web site, upgrading and adding new features to make it more user-friendly and better able to serve the needs of the school and its students.
Equally important, the school will be able to assign a number of students to serve as interns at EBStor.com headquarters in Manassas. EBStor.com professionals will work closely with the interns to assist them in mastering technology skills and gaining knowledge about Internet marketing and commerce.
"Any way you look at it, it's a win-win situation for us, the school and the students," Ms. Calkins added.
