Fed: Almost 1.3 million watch government's apology

The federal government's historic apology to the stolen generations was watched by
almost one point three million television viewers.

The apology for the pain and suffering inflicted on tens of thousands of indigenous
people taken from their families was broadcast live on every network yesterday .. and
brought in big audiences despite its morning time slot.

Figures from OzTAM show an average of 1.272 million people watched the event on television
across the country.

The Seven Network's extended broadcast of its Sunrise program attracted the most viewers
.. with 458 thousand tuning in.
